Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Chevereto Cloud and all related services (the "Service") provided by Chevere SpA ("Chevereto", "we", "us", or "our"). This AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy.
We reserve the right to update this AUP at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
1. Prohibited Content
You may not use the Service to upload, store, publish, transmit, or distribute any content that:
- Depicts or promotes the sexual exploitation of minors (CSAM) in any form. We report all such material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate fully with law enforcement.
- Constitutes non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII), commonly referred to as "revenge porn", or any image or media distributed without the depicted person's explicit consent.
- Promotes, glorifies, or incites terrorism, genocide, or mass violence, or is produced by or on behalf of a designated terrorist organization.
- Constitutes targeted harassment, stalking, or the publication of another person's private identifying information without consent (doxxing).
- Contains malware, ransomware, spyware, trojans, or any other malicious code intended to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
- Infringes any third party's copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights. See our DMCA Copyright Policy for how we handle infringement claims.
- Violates the terms of service or acceptable use policies of our payment processors, infrastructure providers, or any other third-party service providers whose services are used to deliver Chevereto Cloud.
- Violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
2. Prohibited Conduct
In addition to content restrictions, you may not use the Service to:
- Automated or bot access: access or interact with the Service using automated scripts, bots, crawlers, or any non-human means, except through officially documented APIs and within their intended limits.
- Account abuse: create multiple accounts to circumvent limits, bans, or suspensions, or register accounts through automated means.
- Unauthorized access: attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service; bypass authentication or security controls; or gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or to other users' accounts or data.
- Resource abuse: deliberately overload, flood, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure in a way that degrades availability for other users.
- Impersonation: impersonate Chevereto, its employees, or any other person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization.
- Interference: interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, or attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any component of it.
- Illegal data collection: collect or harvest personal data of other users without their consent, or use the Service in a manner that violates applicable data protection or privacy laws.
3. Your Responsibilities as a BYOS Account Holder
Chevereto Cloud is a Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS) platform. Because all media files are stored in your own externally configured storage infrastructure, you are the operator of any website or application you build on top of the Service. As such:
- You are solely responsible for the content stored in and served from your external storage, including content uploaded by your own end users.
- You must ensure that your use of the Service, and the use you permit to your own end users, complies with this AUP, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws.
- You must maintain a mechanism for your end users to report abusive or illegal content, and act on such reports in a timely manner.
- You may not use the Service to build a platform whose primary purpose is to host content that would itself violate this AUP.
4. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any content or conduct on a Chevereto Cloud-powered service that you believe violates this AUP or applicable law, please contact us:
Chevere SpA — Security Team
Email: security@chevereto.com
Please include as much detail as possible: the URL of the content, the nature of the violation, and any supporting evidence. We review all reports and take appropriate action.
For copyright-specific complaints, use the process described in our DMCA Copyright Policy.
5. Enforcement
We take violations of this AUP seriously. Upon identifying or receiving a credible report of a violation, we may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice:
- Issue a warning to the account holder.
- Suspend access to the Service temporarily.
- Terminate the account permanently.
- Disclose information to law enforcement or other authorities where required or permitted by law.
The severity and speed of our response will be proportional to the nature of the violation. Certain violations — including any involving CSAM, malware distribution, or active security attacks — will result in immediate termination without warning.
Termination for AUP violations does not entitle you to any refund of fees paid.
